Web 3.0

What is web 3.0? Web 3.0 is like a personal assistant. The more you use it the smarter it will get. Google tracks your interest and gives you suggestions. For example, google maps tracks you and will automatically learn the stores you have shopped at and restaurants do you have ate from. If you were to ask to google, “what should I eat?” google will give you suggestions based on where you have been. Also googles maps learns where you live and where you work and will give you notification when it is time to leave and the best route to take to be on time. One of my favorite web 3.0 website would be bands in towns. I love going to concerts, this website is very helpful I get notified when one of my favorite bands are going to play in Las Vegas. How it works is bands in town asks for permission to connect with Facebook and collects data on the Facebook pages of artist and bands you like. Some of the bands I like are not well known and they do not have ads to let me know if they come, but that’s when bands in town comes in handy. Another website I like using is Pandora, Pandora is an online radio service where you can customize the artist and bands you like, like and dislike songs. The more you like or dislike songs the smarter it gets and give you suggestions of new artist and bands you might like. A more common web 3.0 is Netflix, just like Pandora it is a personalized web site for people to watch movies and TV shows. The more you watch a certain style show Netflix will give you a list on other TV shows you might like. After watching the Office more than likely Netflix will suggest you watch Parks and Recreations. Web 3.0 is like an assistant that learns what you like.

Audio-Technica AT-LP60-USB

Hello, this week tech review I am reviewing the Audio-Technica AT-LP60-USB Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Stereo Turntable. This is a perfect turntable for anyone who is interested in picking up a new hobble. The turntable is easy to use, it has a built-in pre-amp, so you can listen to your music using line out (aux). this does not have a built-in speaker, so you need to plug in to an audio output device. I use a 5.1 surround system to listen to my records and it sounds amazing. This turntable can record your vinyl records into mp3 files

What is included in the box:

dual RCA (female) to 3.5 mm (1/8") mini-plug (male) stereo adapter cable

dual RCA (female) to 3.5 mm (1/8") mini-plug (female) stereo adapter cable
45 RPM adapter

USB cable

Recording software.

The turntable can play 7” and 12” records at speeds of 33 RPM and 45 RPM. It has an auto turn off feature that puts the arm away that protects the stylist and your vinyl from taking damage .

During the clips the audio sounds a little bad because of the cameras microphone but it sounds good in person.

Muiti-color LED Lights

This weeks tech review I’m going to review a product that I bought as a joke and had low expectation for. When I used it I was blown away by how dumb it was I instantly fell in love. I’m talking about the T10 multicolor LED canbus. This product replaces miniature t10/w5w dome lights used in cars, these LED lights are controlled with a remote to change the color of the LEDs. The nice thing about these LEDs is that when you change the color and turn them off and back on they stay on the same setting, they don’t reset. You can change the brightness to be brighter or dimmer, there are 4 modes you can choose from flash, strobe, fade and smooth. My personal favorite is the smooth mode because it flashes from red to blue, it makes me feel like I’m an undercover cop. Just a warning if you decide to buy this for your car don’t be dumb trying to pull people over because you will get in trouble with the cops.

Yi Dash Cam

This week’s tech review im going to talk about the YI Dash Camera. Right out of the box it comes with a mount, micro USB and car plug. The camera itself uses a micro sd card which is not supplied. The nice thing about this camera is that it uses a micro usb for the power source, so you don’t have to worry about trying to find a weird replacement cable. The dashcam records in High Definition and has a 165-degree field of view to reduce blind spots and has night vision for night time driving. There is a phone app that allows you to connect with the dashcam to view a live feed and review the captured footage. The camera has an Advanced Driver Assistance System which alerts the driver about lane departure and distance. I actually don’t recommend using it can get pretty distracting and it wasn’t very actuate I kept getting warns that I was swerving when I was driving straight. The best thing about this dash camera is the price! It only cost $47.99 on amazon. I bought a suction mount for $8.99 so I can move it from car to car. I highly recommend buying this dash cam

JETech Wireless FM Transmitter

Welcome to my tech blog review, this week I am going to review an item I use every day, JETech Wireless FM Transmitter. This device is so useful, if you do not have an AUX cable input and do not want to spend the money to replace your car radio this device will solve your problem! How it works is the transmitter is powered by your cars cigarette lighter or 12v output plug and it transmits to your cars radio using FM radio signal. It is very simple to use there are only two buttons left and right to change the FM channel from 88 – 108mhz. The transmitter uses a 3.5mm headphone jack, you can practically connect any device, sorry iPhone users unless you have the adapter. So what you want to do is match the device FM output with the radio signal preferably pick an empty FM station to get better sound and avoid excessive static. The channel that worked best for me was 89.9. the sound output is amazing it sounds as if you’re listening from a CD, I noticed the transmitter tends to lose signal when there was a big truck was next to me or when there was heavy traffic. The transmitter has a nice design it comes in a matte black casing with a bright red LED screen.

What is Gmail? Gmail is an online service by google which lunched on April 1, 2004. Gmail provides users with an account that allows them to message other users via emails just like Yahoo Mail and Hotmail. In the beginning Gmail gave users one gigabyte of storage today they offer 15 gigabytes of storage. At the time people were skeptical and thought Gmail was a prank since they offered one gigabyte of storage in that was big in 2004. Plus being released on April 1st that would also make people be skeptical since that’s April fools day. Gmail has done well since its used by businesses and universities no doubt Gmail is the leading email provider and search engine.

According to https://www.alexa.com/ the top 10 websites globally are:

1.) Google.com

2.) YouTube.com

3.) Facebook.com

4.) Baidu.com

5.) Wikipedia.org

6.) Reddit.com

7.) Yahoo.com

8.) Google.co.in

9.) Qq.com

10.) Taobao.com

Basically, all these websites are web 2.0. they allow users to interact with each other and trade information and buy goods. Three of the top web sites is own by Google. Only one of these sites is a online store from china which I have never heard of. YouTube, Wikipedia and Reddit are community-based websites the more people contribute the better it gets. Specifically, YouTube and Wikipedia they are filled with useful information contributed by many different people. what makes these sites to be top ten is that they all let users to share information. You look the top ten by country the United States Amazon, eBay, Netflix are added on the list. These three sites revolve around users spending money on goods or watching movies / TV shows online.

Google search or Bing? Today these two are the top search engines. But which one is better? Personally, I feel like for this debate you need to understand the history of both companies. Both companies google, and Microsoft started out the same way, in a garage. There’s no doubt google is one number one when it comes to an online search engine. According to gs.statcounter.com google makes up 91.65% of worldwide searches and Bing is 2.71%. Bing is largely different from google because Bing rewards their users with points. Users can redeem the point for gift cards, donations to charity and sweepstakes. To earn points, users need to make a Microsoft account and search on Bing and every time they search something they earn points. Bing has made it easier for users to earn more points faster like searching one their mobile device and taking a quick test. At the end both search engines do what they are meant to do and that is to search online information for you.

My First blog!

Welcome to my first blog ever! Tom’s Tech Talk. My name is Tomas. My blog page will focus on “tech” reviews, anything that’s considered technology and I find interesting. I’m not a professional. This is my attempted to try something new and different, so I apologize if I leave out detail or if I have misinformed information. In my reviews I will add the price of the item and links where I found it. I will also add pictures of the items and maybe videos. I also try to review items that are not super expensive. For sure I am not going to do any phone reviews any time soon. I will try my best with this Tech blog review!
